If you are anything like me, you probably spend as much on yourself for Christmas as you do your loved ones! I’m a retail marketers dream with about as much self-control as a kid in a candy store. When I see something pretty, it calls my name until I can ignore it no longer – hmmm maybe I’ll get two, one for me and one for my friend… After all, I’ve been working hard lately. I deserve it.

So I could have called this travel gift guide ‘Best things to buy your loved one on valentines day’ but lets cut to the chase, you are probably going to read it thinking ‘Well I’d quite like that but my boyfriend is rubbish at buying gifts’ or ‘I don’t have a boyfriend – I’m too busy’ so here it is: A Valentines travel-themed gift guide… for yourself! So if your loved one’s taste in presents is similar to your great-grans or the only lust/passion/love in your life is travel, this articles for you!

My Travel Gift Guide – to buy for yourself!

Display your photos

Looking for a beautiful way to display your travel photos? I love this modern design and it would work perfectly to display your Instagram photos from your trips away! Or the Polaroid photos I mention further down!

Books for travel inspiration

This was a travel gift I actually bought myself! Brimming with fashion and travel information for travelling in the USA in style. It’s one of those beautiful books that just looks so pretty on your coffee table! I’m a sucker for pretty books…! I don’t even have a trip to America planned in the near future!

A pretty make up bag

Super pretty but also super functional – so you need it right?!!

A weekend bag

I really love this weekend bag. It’s a great size for that city break but it’s also super chic don’t you think?!

A passport cover

Price: £5.95
Was: £9.95

Another cute but functional gift for you-from you! Just don’t forget to always check your passport is in its case – yes I once forgot to do this and nearly missed my flight to Australia… (Thanks to my Dad who totally bailed me out by delivering the actual passport to me!)

A world map for your wall

How pretty is the watercolour world map? They do loads of different quirky designs to suit the style of your home!

A globe to record where you’ve been

I received this for Christmas this year and loved it! It’ll look great on the shelves above my desk to inspire my travel writing!

36 Hours in Europe guidebook

Another gift I bought me from me. This book has great ideas about how to make the most of a 36-hour city break in Europe. I love that it doesn’t just focus on the obvious places and activities but includes some that are quirky and relatively unknown! It’s also a very pretty coffee table book..!

A Fuji polaroid camera

Want to be one of the cool kids? This Polaroid camera is really fun and comes with loads of great features like high key mode which will make your photos sunny and bright and has a selfie mirror! Polaroid photos look great displayed on your wall!

A Nikon D5600 DSLR camera

Speaking of cameras, if you have a little more cash to splash on yourself, how about this NikonD5600 camera with kit lens? I use the Nikon D5500 to get my shots – this is the newer version. I love the camera as there’s a load of really useful features like a flip screen for getting low and high angle photos! Check out some of my photos in this post: How to make your wildlife photos awesome.

A drone

This is the year I want to treat myself to a drone! Imagine how cool your photos would be taken from an entirely different perspective. Get sweeping photos of beautiful landscapes and take great videos to share with your friends. Yes, I’m sold on the drone.

A GoPro

Price: £359.99
Was: £399.99

The other big investment I want to make this year is in a GoPro! My big green eyes of envy always come out when someone has a GoPro and were travelling. I bought a super cheap alternative which was great but the battery life was hard work and you just can’t beat the image quality of a Go Pro. So for me, 2018 will be the year of the GoPro and the drone

A travel organiser

Price: Check on Amazon

I  love a pretty organiser, especially if it’s travel-themed. This one has the added bonus of lots of photos to inspire you to travel within its pages. You’ll also find compartments to budget, pack, make lists of places you want to see/eat/do, record your trip with a journal and there’s even a section with handy currency conversions.

A travel-themed colouring book

Colouring books are becoming really popular as a passive way to practice mindfulness and relax. Now you can get a travel-themed one with pictures such as the Taj Mahal to colour in! A great way to fill some time on those long plane journeys!

A mini coffee machine

Are you like a bear with a sore tooth without your morning coffee? Ever been disappointed by the lack of ‘decent coffee’ on holiday! Then your problem is solved with this mini coffee machine that’ll fit in your hand luggage so you never have to worry about where you’ll find a decent cuppa to get you going in the morning.

A travel inspired necklace

Practical gifts are great but sometimes we just want to treat ourselves to something that’s just really pretty! I love this necklace as it’s pretty enough to wear every day but reminds me of travelling too.

A travel-themed watch

Pretty and functional. I love this travel inspired watch! Never miss a flight again…

Travel straighteners

I love this idea. I miss taking my hairdryer and straighteners with me when I travel but here is the solution. Mini hair straighteners, but there’s more – its charged by USB so no extra bulky plugs to take with you! Also great for camping trips as you could charge it in the car!

A  travel quote for your wall

I love the message here, it reminds us to live and enjoy the moment – a great quote for those who love to travel and make the most of life! I also love the idea of a quote on a rail ticket!

A book for foodies

Are you a foodie and a travel lover? Then combine both with this book to inspire your foodie holidays all over the world to discover the best street food to tantalise your taste buds!
